The Open Bracket reigns supreme! From August 5-7th, the world’s top Call of Duty Pros and Amateur teams will enter the MLG Orlando Open for a chance to win $100,000 and over 2,500 CWL Pro Points. This is the final major tournament before the 2016 Call of Duty Championship September 2-4th, and an important competition for teams who have yet to qualify for Champs.
If you’re new to Call of Duty eSports, you can learn more about the importance of the MLG Open Bracket and CWL Pro Points by reading our MLG Anaheim Open article from June 2016.
Much like MLG Anaheim, the ASTRO Crew will be on site with MixAmps at every station, powering main stage and the 96 team Open Bracket. The MixAmp is a crucial part of every LAN, enabling competitors to adjust game-to-voice balance, hear their enemies in Dolby Surround Sound, and create a private voice network without an internet connection. Having the ASTRO MixAmps in play also allows MLG to create a uniform audio source for every competitor and minimal hardware adjustments between matches, keeping the games on schedule. When available, pros also prefer to use the hardware they practice with for competition. Our MixAmp TR will allow teams to use their own headsets in the pool play area all weekend, a huge upside for pro teams and their sponsors.
The Red Army
Last month we watched as ASTRO Family Pros – Team Infused entered the MLG Anaheim Open, sweeping through pool play, securing one of four open seeds in group play. They battled against North America’s best organizations in groups, finishing in 5/6th place as the highest placing international team to enter the open bracket. After their incredible performance at Anaheim, ASTRO is excited to provide Infused with the opportunity to enter the MLG Orlando Open bracket by flying the whole squad to Orlando!
Infused has already qualified for the 2016 Call of Duty Championship, finishing 2nd place in Stage 2 of the European Call of Duty World League Finals, but you can never get enough LAN practice. Infused has our full support and vote of confidence, that when given the proper chance to practice in the global ranks, they can bridge the skill gap between continents and become a top contender at the 2016 Call of Duty Championship. Good luck to Team Infused and all the CWL competitors! We can’t wait!
The ASTRO Crew will be on site all weekend long, so if you see us setting up or taking photos, be sure to say hello and make a funny face. We’d love to hear your feedback on our products and support. See you soon, ASTRO Family!
