Major League Gaming is proud to announce that the fifth and final stop of the 2009 Pro Circuit will take place in Orlando, FL on January 8-10. The MLG Pro Circuit will feature open competitions in both Halo 3 and Gears of War 2, culminating in the crowning of a 2009 National Champion in each game. MLG will also crown a National Champion in the invitation-only World of Warcraft competition. In addition, Orlando will play host to the EA SPORTS Challenge. The event will feature top players duking it out in Madden 10, NBA Live 10, and Fight Night Round 4. Over $380,000 in prize money will be awarded over the course of the weekend, meaning the level of competition and excitement will be at an all-time high! You don’t want to miss it.

“We want to be the Nike or Burton of video gaming,” explains Brett Lovelady, founder of Astro Studios, a San Francisco–based industrial design firm that focuses on personal entertainment equipment. He’s talking about the studio’s new venture, Astro Gaming, a spin-off company that recently began making pro-grade gaming gear. “There was an opportunity to give gaming pros better-performing product, much like you would do with any professional sport,” he says. “You know, let’s give the best athletes the best products to perform with.” Just as Nike Lab develops specialty shoes for Olympians, Astro Gaming wants to make gear for the next kings of Kong.
