ASTRO’s Stream Team consists of hand-picked live-streamers of varying interests and styles. On top of hosting on the ASTRO channel, they run their own streams and provide monthly give-aways of ASTRO products.
Coty Heim, or “imcoty” is a live-streamer based out of Sandusky, Ohio who indulges in Call of Duty, a healthy interaction with his chat audience and PC games.
ASTRO: How did you first get into gaming?
Coty: I’ve always played casually on the family console, but got serious into gaming when my Dad got me Call of Duty 4 for Christmas in 2007.
ASTRO: What game(s) are you currently playing?
Coty:Call of Duty, Garry’s Mod, Amnesia, Titanfall
ASTRO: Which game(s) or game series has been with you the longest? What can you not get enough of? Coty:Call of Duty. Its a love/hate relationship. I’d like to, and am planning on branching out into a more interesting series.
ASTRO: What is your favorite game-related memory and why?
Coty: MLG Anaheim 2013 – although NOT my first gaming event, it was the first one I went to and was not completely shy and actually interacted with people. Absolutely amazing experience and its always a blast seeing all the people you talk to online 🙂
ASTRO: What do you hope to see in the future of gaming?
Coty: I’m not entirely sure yet – and I think thats part of the beauty of it. All I know right now is that I absolutely love what i’m doing right now and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I want to be involved in the gaming ‘industry’ for as long as possible. Where exactly i’ll be in 5 years… who knows 🙂
ASTRO: If you could tell your younger-self one thing, what would you say?
Coty: Stay true to yourself, and stop giving a damn about what people think of you. – Something i eventually learned, but way later than I wanted to.
ASTRO: What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?
Coty: First of all – do it because you love doing it. If you wanna do what I do because other people are finding success and you want to make money, you might as well stop right now. It’s not easy. Stay true to yourself and never give up. Always be open to criticism and never put yourself above someone else.
ASTRO: What, in your opinion, makes your stream unique and awesome?
Coty: The Interaction. I’m transparent with my viewers. I can relate to them, and I try to as much as possible. I try to make my stream a 100% representation of who I am. granted, it might not appeal to every single person at first, but those who are interested, are gonna really sink in on it.
ASTRO: What has been your favorite game to stream thus far?
Coty: I hated, but also loved streaming Slenderman: The Arrival.
ASTRO: Which Astros are your favorite to use?
Coty: Astro A40s – Saints Row Edition (purple)
ASTRO: What do you do when you’re not streaming?
Coty: Whenever I’m not streaming, it’s a constant thought process on how to improve my stream. I’m also an avid YouTuber and am always looking at ways to improve my content and expand my brand.
ASTRO: What about your hobbies—those fabled things you do for fun when you’re not gaming?
Coty: This is what I do for fun! …that’s too boring right? :p although most of my time goes into gaming, I also LOVE spending time outside… camping, going out on the lake and spending time with my family, and my girlfriend.
ASTRO: Favorite vacation spot?
Coty: California
