ASTRO’s Stream Team consists of hand-picked live-streamers of varying interests and styles. On top of hosting on the ASTRO channel, they run their own streams and provide monthly give-aways of ASTRO products.
The creator of StrengthGamer.com, Anthony Accinelli, is a nomadic but currently Oregon-based live-streamer who simply loves video games. While his personal live-stream is a solo show, Strength Gamers is in fact a stream team of like-minded individuals who are all about community. You can always expect to see new releases showcased on Anthony’s channel, whether it be a AAA title or a small indie game.
This is not your average live-stream as Anthony makes a point to saying ‘hello’ to every newcomer in his chat and prides himself on being extremely interactive with his viewers.
ASTRO: How did you first get into gaming?
I’ve always been a “gamer”, but a year or so out of college I decided to start writing reviews and posting them to my blog, StrengthGamer.com – the rest is history!
ASTRO: What game(s) are you currently playing?
H1Z1 and Dying Light are my two games right now. Once in a while I’ll turn on WoW or CSGO, but I enjoy games that put me in odd situations the most.
ASTRO: Which game(s) or game series has been with you the longest? What can you not get enough of?
Legend of Zelda. All day. Every day. I simply can’t get enough.
ASTRO: What is your favorite game-related memory and why?
Playing through Ocarina of Time with my dad and younger brother is the best gaming memory I have. Also, oddly enough, Skylanders has given me some of the greatest memories with my family.
ASTRO: What do you hope to see in the future of gaming?
A stronger community. Less animosity. I want to see games and streams bring people together rather than split them apart.
ASTRO: If you could tell your younger-self one thing, what would you say?
“Dude! You’re going to do it! You’re actually going to be playing video games for a living, I promise!” haha
ASTRO: What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?
Don’t do it for the money. Do it for fun. If success comes out of it, great – if not, at least you’re having fun. The moment you start thinking about the revenue over the quality of fun you’re having is the very moment you fail.
ASTRO: What, in your opinion, makes your stream unique and awesome?
I have a giant red beard! No, I’m kidding, that’s not it. I am very, very interactive. My stream is also a ‘safe place’ where everyone can feel welcome. There is no judging here. There are no trolls in the chat. If you’re looking for a place to vent or relax after a bad day, the stream is the perfect place.
ASTRO: What has been your favorite game to stream thus far? Any story-driven game, honestly. I had a ton of fun playing GTA V, but after nearly 1500 hours it’s become a bit repetitive.
ASTRO: Which Astros are your favorite to use? For long gaming sessions my A40’s. I am rocking custom tags. My Twitch logo on the left side and the StrengthGamer logo on the right! If I’m listening to music or doing some quick video editing, my A50’s are insanely comfortable.
ASTRO: What do you do when you’re not streaming? (Other jobs/School/gaming goals etc)
Hang out with Beth (my wife) and our two dogs. Workout. Write reviews and post video highlights.
ASTRO: What about your hobbies—those fabled things you do for fun when you’re not gaming?
Video gaming is still my hobby, despite it being my job. If sitting on the couch binge watching seasons on Netflix is a hobby… then that’s another one haha.
ASTRO: Favorite vacation spot?
Maui, Hawaii. There are few places in the world where I feel home away from home, and Maui is one of them.
ASTRO: Best movie of all time in your opinion?
Wow. That’s a loaded question. I could watch Dumb & Dumber every day, but in objectively speaking – The Art of Flight is the most well directed and beautifully made movies I’ve ever seen.
ASTRO: The music that is, to put it succinctly, “your jam”?
Classic video game 8-bit music is in all my playlists. While streaming I love listening to EDM. I’m a very mood-specific listener of music, so it all depends on the situation, honestly.
ASTRO: And speaking of jam—what’s your favorite food?
Burritos. That’s it. That’s all. Shove it in a tortilla and I’m a happy camper.
ASTRO: Best brain food (books, a quote, tv shows etc):
Silence. I’m at my best when there is no sound, no distractions.
