Today marks a new era in the history of console eSports as we launch head first into Halo 5: Guardians and the $1 Million Halo World Championship. The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer experience brings a range new features, improving gameplay with new modes, new Spartan abilities and expertly crafted maps.
Along with the evolution of multiplayer gameplay, 343 Industries is expanding on the Halo Championship Series with the announcement of the $1,000,000 Halo World Championship! In a clip from today’s Xbox Gamescom Media Briefing they also hinted at some new partners for the HCS, including ESL, MLG, Twitch & YouTube Gaming. With a squad like that, the possibilities are limitless.
Continuing the hype, ESL is also hosting a Halo 5: Guardians Invitational tournament at Gamescom with 4 professional Halo teams: Supremacy, CAZ, Epsilon & OpTic Gaming. We got a preview of the battles to come during today’s Xbox Gamescom Media Briefing with a showdown between Epsilon eSports & OpTic Gaming.
Last but not least, we were more than excited to premiere our brand new Halo 5: Guardians A40 +MixAmp™ M80 with the Xbox One Limited Edition Bundle.
