This guide will provide you will all of the information you will need to setup your ASTRO A50 Wireless + Base Station with your PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Pro Setup
From the box, remove:
- Micro USB Cable
- Optical Cable
- A50 Wireless Headset
- Base Station
Before you begin, make sure the console, and A50 Wireless + Base Station are fully updated.
To update the A50 Wireless + Base Station firmware:
- Connect the Base Station to a PC or MAC using the Micro USB Cable that was included
- Place the A50 Headset in the Base Station and make sure the charging lights turn on.
- Switch the Base Station to “PC Mode”
- Download and install the ASTRO Command CenterYou can find the ASTRO Command Center Software here: http://www.astrogaming.com/acc
- Run the ACC software and follow the onscreen instructions to update your A50 Wireless + Base Station firmware
- Once your ASTRO A50 Wireless + Base Station has finished updating, unplug the USB cable from the PC and switch the Base Station back to “Console Mode”
To connect your A50 Wireless + Base Station with a PlayStation 4
Step 1. Plug the Micro end of the Micro USB cable into the back of the Base Station in the port marked “USB”
Step 2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into oneof the USB ports on the front of the PS4
Step 3. Plug one end of the Optical/TOS Link cable into the back of the PlayStation 4 in the port marked “Optical out”
Step 4. Plug the other end of the Optical/TOS Link cable into the back of the Base Station in the port marked “Optical in”
To Setup your A50 Wireless + Base Station on your PS4
Step 1. Turn on your PS4 and navigate to the settings screen
Step 2. From here navigate to the “Sound and Screen” section
Step 3. Select “Audio Output Settings”
Step 4. On the “Audio Output Settings” screen select “Primary Output Port”
Step 5. From the Primary Output Port screen select “Digital Out(Optical)” then select “Dolby Digital 5.1ch”
Step 6. Navigate back to the “Audio Output Settings” screen and select “Audio Format (Priority)”
Step 7. On the “Audio Output Settings” menu select “Bitstream (Dolby)”
Step 8. Navigate back to the “Settings” menu and select “Devices”
Step 9. On the “Devices” screen select “Audio Devices”
Step 10. In the “Audio Devices” menu select “Input Device” and make sure “USB Headset(Astro A50)” is selected
Step 11. In the “Audio Devices” menu select “Output Device” and make sure “USB Headset(Astro A50)” is selected
Step 12. Select “Output to Headphones”
Step 13. Select “Chat Audio”
Your PlayStation is now setup for use with your ASTRO A50 Wireless + Base Station
