Part of our job (our being the community team at ASTRO Gaming) is to attend various gaming events. We meet fans and streamers, we play games, take photos, create videos, and often forget to sleep. When I started in the gaming industry going to PAX was the highlight of my year. There is something amazing about being surrounded by tens of thousands of gamers from all walks of life. All coming together in one space to share their love of gaming and geek culture. I often wax poetic about my love of the PAX and greater gaming community. I’ve spent the last 8 years of my life building community in the gaming industry, and it has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. This year at PAX East I had the pleasure of training a new Community Manager for ASTRO Gaming. It was enjoyable to go back to a show and look at it with fresh eyes. Often, things we love, and things we truly enjoy, can easily be taken for granted. I’ve been to almost every PAX since Necrowombicon, and I’ll have to admit, as I get older I don’t always feel the same sense of wonder that I once did when stepping foot on the show floor. When I got back from the show I knew, right away, that PAX would be the subject of focus for my next Instagram Roundup. Please enjoy this selection of photography from our content team from PAX events in 2016 and 2017.
